Something fresh & new

Hello All!!

Sorry I've missed a couple of days, but I was on a much needed vacation!

On Tuesday at work we had a rep from Osborne & Little come in to show us the new collection. I work for an Interior Design Firm that specializes in Traditional design. This new line of textiles and fabrics from Osborne & Little blew me away. The fabrics were modern, fresh and vibrant, all of my favorite aspects in design!

Here are a few examples of some of their fabrics and how they are applied:

I would LOVE to use these fun vibrant fabrics all over my house! Once I own a house that is =)

Check out the website, the style is nothing short of amazing!

Dedicated to the Greatest...

The media likes to tear people down and break them apart, but I think Chris Brown is a good example that regardless of what happens in the past, if you are a truly talented artist your personal life won't matter! I want to share his latest video with you readers because it truly is a dedication to Michael Jackson. It was done in a very tasteful and sophisticated way as to not completely mimic MJ, but to show how MJ inspired CB. From the backdrops, the dance moves, to the wardrobe it had the Michael Jackson aura around it. I think, like Michael, Chris Brown has had to overcome his share of media attacks and I am proud to say that I stayed a loyal fan to them both!

Enjoy the video! =)

Tearin' Up My Heart

Today is my payday and a song instantly popped into my head when remembering. *NSYNC's "Just got paid!" Hahah I started singing the chorus in my head thinking I want to go out and party tonight, but sadly I cannot. The price I pay for having two jobs and a bad shopping habit. Remembering this song made me realize how much I miss *NSYNC and they need a reunion tour PRONTO! NKOTB & BSB both had reunion tours already, and I think *NSYNC fans have waited long and patiently for them to reunite. So for any bloggers out their that want to spread the word that they need a reunion tour please do so! Other than that please enjoy the song that temporarily lifted my spirits this morning!

I Need A Black Light...

Today's post is inspired by my upcoming trip to Vegas for a friend's birthday. She has a specific theme that she wants all the girls to do and that is... NEON! Think of 80's mixed with go-go dancer all in bright neon colors. Some of the girls were having trouble (as was I) finding a way to incorporate our own style with the neon theme. So I decided to do some quick sketches of some outfit options to mix and match between. Now if it were closer to Halloween these neon items would be easier to find, but since it's not we'll just have to make do with what's out there now.

These are just some silly ideas I decided to sketch out, but I mean it's neon... Have fun with it! Some awesome accessories I might add; glowsticks, glow glasses, neon eyelashes and crazy neon make-up. If you're going to go neon, might as well go all out! =)

Something to sweeten my day...

So, I guess the universe decided it wanted to test my patience today.. and did it ever! But as a way to de-stress I've decided to share one of my favorite sweet treats with you all! Nothing Bundt Cakes. This place sells one thing, bundt cakes (if you couldn't guess from their name). They have nine different flavors daily and a flavor of the month. My personal favorite is the White Chocolate Raspberry! All the bundt cakes have a velvety cream cheese frosting that's delicious. The bundt cakes can be dressed up for special occasions or just bought simply to enjoy for yourself! Here are some images of the cakes to make you mouth water...

Happliy Ever After?!

For some of you that may know me I have a grand obsession with Disney. So, of course I follow them on twitter and to my surprise and excitement I read that Walt Disney World is planning renovations of their resort hotel rooms into... wait for it...

DISNEY PRINCESS ROOMS!!

They are scheduled to start renovations and will have some of the rooms ready to stay in by February or March of 2012. You can read more about it here Disney Princess Rooms.

Being the interior design graduate that I am, I have always imagined staying in a Little Mermaid themed room (as Ariel is my favorite Disney Princess). I drew a quick sketch (very quick) of a possible bedroom idea as well as some actual material they could use in that room:

The bed would be reminiscent of Ariel's Clam shell top with a pearl trim outlining the shape and lines of the shells, the bedside lamps would be a fun coral and the walls would be adorned with sheer green silks cut to mimic seaweed swaying through the ocean. I imagine the walls to be blue like the sea using a bedazzled geode like this:

Bedazzled Geode by Maya Romanoff
I also imagine that a Belle's room would be done in a Classic/Baroque style, Snow White's a Cottage/French Country Style, Sleeping Beauty's in a Medieval style, Jasmine's in a Rococo/Arabic style, and Tiana's in a French Quarters/New Orleans/Southern Style. I guess those assumptions are pretty obvious, but I can't wait to see what Disney puts together! Their innovation and design always amaze me! =)

Easter Fun!

I know this post is a day late, but my laptop is ancient so I mostly post during the weekdays! Had a lovely 3-day weekend and got a lot of things done! Easter was good times with family! Cooked Easter brunch for my loved ones that consisted of French toast (made with french bread) with Marscapone Cheese & Strawberries, Bacon, Cheesy Eggs, Hash Browns & Lil' Smokie Sausages. Needless to say we scarfed that down quickly! We watched all the NBA playoff games and I am sad to say the LA Lakers (my fave NBA team) lost to the NO Hornets =( making it a tied series. ON a brighter note myself and my creative nieces painted Easter eggs instead of dyeing them. Here they are!
